Dear Braddock District Residents,

As of October 1, the federal government shutdown is creating uncertainty for thousands of families right here in Fairfax County. For the federal employees, government contractors, and the many residents who rely on government services, with already high expenses as it is, this shutdown is a direct threat to stability.

To the many federal employees in our community: while there is no true substitute for a paycheck, I will continue to advocate for fairness and ensure you receive the back pay you deserve. To contractors and hourly workers, I will fight to make sure your voices are heard and that county resources are available to support you.

I’m committed to standing alongside each and every family, worker, small business owner, and resident  during this time. Our community is resilient, and Fairfax County has resources to help those impacted. From food assistance to housing support, services are available for anyone in need. I encourage you to reach out and ask for help when needed, and our campaign will continue sharing information about where to find help.

This shutdown is unacceptable, and in times like these, full of uncertainty and fear, we must come together and support one another.

For those who may need immediate support, here is a list of local resources available to Braddock families below. Please do not hesitate to reach out as no one in our community should face this shutdown alone:
